A Delta Air Lines plane has reportedly crashed at Toronto Airport, Canada. In a social media post, the airport operator confirmed that it was “aware of a landing incident involving a Delta plane arriving from Minneapolis.” Emergency crews were reportedly called in and all passengers and crew members were identified.

Paramedics who responded to the scene, along with Peel police, confirmed to CP24 that at least eight people were injured, one in serious condition. Seven others suffered non-critical injuries, according to US media.

According to posts on flight tracking website FlightRadar24, the flight involved was Delta 4819 from Toronto to Minneapolis, operated by Endeavor Air for Delta Connection with a CRJ-900. Some social media posts appear to show the jet upside down on the runway in Toronto.

Staff at Toronto Pearson International Airport told CTV News that all arrivals and departures have been suspended for now.

The incident comes just weeks after a tragedy in Washington, D.C., over the Potomac River, in which a military Black Hawk helicopter collided with an American Airlines plane. All 67 people on board died. The incident, which is currently under scrutiny by the NTSB for possible radio communication issues and altimeter errors, has fueled concerns about regional flight safety and industry operating protocols.
