Patala Lok is one of the many famous web series that have become super hits from our Indian content on the popular OTT platform Amazon Prime Video. Season 1 of this series, which came out during the last lockdown, was a big hit along with many controversies. And after almost five years, Season 2 of it came out amidst good expectations. Let’s see if this season has also impressed.

Paatal Lok Web Series Story:

As a continuation from Season 1, Hathiram Chaudhary (Jaideep Ahlawat) continues in the same position at his police station in Delhi. But Imran Ansari (Iswak Singh), who came under his training, becomes an IAS officer. It is against this backdrop that Jonathan Tam (Kagirang), a powerful bigwig from Nagaland, is brutally murdered in a hotel.

With this, it becomes a big case in Nagaland. While this becomes a challenge for Ansari, on the other hand, Hathiram Choudhary also has a link with a young woman named Rose Lijo (Merenla Insong) who is missing in Delhi. At one point, the case is investigated separately and the link with Ansari's case also meets. What is their link in this context? The plan made by Kapil Reddy (Nagesh Kukunoor) in this, who is behind all the drama? If you want to know how those two cases are solved, you have to watch this series.

Patal Lok Web Series Analysis:

One of the main reasons why the first season became a good hit is that it is a drama with solid emotions. And in this season 2, the neatly designed drama will appeal to those who want this type of drama episode. Also, the twists that are revealed as the episode progresses, as well as the investigation scenes, will arouse good interest.

The action part of the investigation and the way a twist is revealed in it seem simple and engaging. Similarly, a beautiful ending in Season 2, just like in Season 1, makes the audience feel at ease. Along with this, the scenes between Ansari and Hathiram's characters are all more appealing to those who like those characters.

As for the actors, Jaideep, who showed a solid performance in Season 1, has put in good efforts in this too. His hard work is visible in many scenes even at that age. He also worked hard physically for this film. Also, despite working as a sincere police officer, his performance moves the audience with an emotional scene on Ansari, who does not get proper recognition.

Also, Iswak Singh, who is walking with him, shines again. His acting is also impressive in this season in line with a key twist that appears on him. Along with these, key people who appear in the Nagaland region, Nagesh Kukunoor, Tilottama Shome, Merenla Insong and others impressed with their natural performances in their roles.

There is no small problem with this season 2. If you liked season 1 immensely, season 2 may not give you a treat in that range. Even if you finish season 1 and start season 2 directly without watching the trailer, there is a possibility that they will be a little disappointed. Because this will continue with the actors who are completely seen in the police backdrop from season 1.

So those who thought that everyone in season 1 should be those actors will be disappointed. Also, this time there are many differences from season 1. There is no solid violence or adult scenes in it. This may be a good thing in a way, but those who liked them in the first season should have low expectations if they want a drama with those elements.

And this time the story is not very interesting. It seems to be moving very slowly. Until the first four seasons, the episodes do not seem very exciting until the ending. They seem to be slow and weak.

Also, as the story progresses, one new character is introduced. It takes some time to understand all of them. Along with this, it would have been better if the action and emotion parts were presented more strongly.

Technical category:

The makers' production values are good for this season too. The key scenes are elevated well with very natural visuals and catchy music and scores. Also, the cinematography is good this season. It would have been better if the editing had been sharper. The story moves very slowly. The eight-episode season should have been shortened. The Telugu dubbing impresses.

This series is written by Sudeep Sharma, Abhishek Banerjee, Rahul Kanojia, and Tamal Sen, and directed by Avinash Arun Daware. However, it may have been less controversial in the past, but this time it can be said that they have taken very strict precautions regarding the 18+ content. They have also reduced the violence to a great extent. Avinash's direction is also good as per their writing, but it feels like it could have been better.

It would have been better if they had presented the action and many emotional scenes better. Many scenes were run slowly, which should have been reduced. Their groundwork in the investigation drama as well as the scenes seen in the backdrop of Nagaland is impressive. Overall, their work seems decent for this season.

Conclusion:

Overall, this series, which is a continuation of the super hit OTT series Paatal Lok Season 1, will be in its range, but those who don't expect it will be disappointed. If you try it with low expectations, this season 2 will impress you. Good investigation scenes and many emotions are good in the series. Also, the team's efforts at a time will impress. Paatal Lok Season 2 seems to be an interesting crime thriller in a business empire and politics revolve around them. With these, you can try this season once.
