Hit Man star Glen Powell has been spotted in photos on the set of Edgar Wright's The Running Man, giving us a better idea of what to expect from the new reimagining.

The first look at Twisters star Glen Powell as Ben Richards in The Running Man has been released by the Mail Online. The character was originally played by Arnold Schwarzenegger in the 1987 classic, which, like this film, is based on Stephen King's novel of the same name. Scott Pilgrim vs. the World director Edgar Wright is directing this new film, which has assembled an impressive cast, including Josh Brolin, Lee Pace, Katy O'Brian, Emilia Jones, and Michael Cera. None of them were on set (at least not yet).

What do these photos show? As you can see by following the link in Post X below, Powell was spotted in costume at London’s iconic Battersea Power Station. Dressed in an ’80s-inspired ensemble, he is surrounded by period-inspired cars and uniformed guards that recall the police-state setting of The Running Man. A masked figure was also shown on the run, though it’s unclear who it is. A closer look at the photos shared by the newspaper also reveals the remake logo.

What to Know About The Running Man Remake

“It’s been really funny for me because I searched for ‘Edgar Wright’ in my email the other day, and it said ‘Edgar,’” Powell said of the project earlier this year. “We’ve been going back and forth on things about the script, and it’s so much fun. The world that Edgar has developed in this story is just outrageous. It’s so beautiful.”

“And really, we’re both huge fans of Stephen King’s book, and he’s going to be a fantastic character. I’m so excited. But I looked in my email, and I looked in my email for Edgar Wright, and this came up: In 2008, when I moved to Los Angeles, I sent my agent a list of directors I wanted to work with, and Edgar Wright is literally at the top of my list.”

He added: “I’m an Edgar Wright man. And so the fact that I get to work with him right now is really cool.”

It’s 2025, and reality TV has gotten to the point where people are willing to gamble their lives for the chance to get enormous wealth. Ben Richards is desperate. He needs money to treat his daughter’s illness. His last chance is to be on a game show called The Running Man.

The Running Man is scheduled for release on November 21, 2025. Stay tuned for updates as soon as we get them!
