Vettaiyan Movie Review: As Rajinikanth's film Jailer became a super hit, everyone was eagerly waiting to see what kind of film he would do next. Accordingly, he announced a film called Vettaiyan under the direction of Gnanavel Raja. In this movie which means hunter in Telugu, our Telugu hero Rana played the role of villain, and Malayalam actor Fahad Fazil played another lead role. Dushara Vijayan, Ritika Singh, and Rao Ramesh played other key roles in this movie, which starred Manju Warrier as the heroine. The film finally hit the screens today. And how is the movie? Vettaiyan Movie Story:
Kanyakumari district SP (Rajinikanth) is known as an encounter specialist. But Sharanya (Dushara Vijayan), who brought to SP's notice and exposed the ganja affair in her school, dies under unexpected circumstances. Taking her case personally, the SP kills Guna, a suspect in the case, in an encounter. But Satyadev (Amitabh Bachchan) who came from the Human Rights Commission says that he was not in the area where Guna was actually killed at the time of the incident. But who killed Sharanya? What did the SP do when he found out that he made a mistake by killing Guna? What was Natarajan's (Rana's) role in the original Sharanya murder? Vettaiyan Movie Analysis:
In a word, the story of this movie is not new. Because the story seen in many movies in the past seemed to be prepared and screened to suit Rajinikanth's body language. It seems interesting that the hero, who is known as an encounter specialist, accidentally encounters a false encounter and tries to find out who was really at fault to bring justice to the person who died in that encounter. In fact, there have been many movies in the past with similar stories.
But Rajinikanth's fans will be delighted with the direction of this film. Rajinikanth tried to establish his character in the first off and succeeded to a large extent. Apart from Rajinikanth's style elevation, the way he established his character as an SP-level officer nearing retirement is closer to reality. Accordingly, the director, who made the first half interesting, feels a little drawn out after the second half begins. However, the director has succeeded in making the story engaging without getting bored anywhere.
A lot of care has been taken especially in the matter of emotional connectivity. The way the audience connects with the characters without touching them completely is impressive. Although the second half feels a little stretched, the director seems to have succeeded in engaging the audience. But it would have been better if some care had been taken in translating some dialogues from Tamil to Telugu.
Vettaiyan Movie Actors Performance:
Rajinikanth has once again shined in a role befitting his age. In the role of an encounter specialist, Rajinikanth entertained the audience with such ease that no one else could do this role but him. And Amitabh Bachchan impressed with his settled performance in his own style. Fahad Fazil, who kept the audience laughing for the duration, shed tears at the end.
Like Ritika Singh, Abhirami, and Rohini, they impressed their characters with very settled performances. Manju Warrier appeared in fewer scenes but the impact was strong. And all the other actors were impressive in the scope of their roles. When it comes to the technical team, the hero of this movie is Rajinikanth, but in the case of the technical team, the hero is Anirudh Ravichander.
As usual, lately, Anirudh's background score and songs are getting good applause. Anirudh raised dust in the background score of this film. Even though some scenes elevate Rajinikanth, Anirudh tried to bring a double impact in his own style. And the songs are set correctly. And the choreography of the action sequence is amazing. The way Rajinikanth's body language is designed is impressive. Cinematography is a plus point for the movie. The production values are good as per the level of the movie.
