The plot and the new official trailer for Moana 2
Moana 2 is set three years after the events of the first chapter. Moana and Maui set off on a new great journey together with a group of unlikely navigators in search of the people beyond the coasts of Motunui. After receiving an unexpected call from her ancestors, Moana must travel to the distant seas of Oceania and into dangerous and forgotten waters for an adventure unlike anything she has ever experienced.
In addition to Auli‘i Cravalho (Moana) and Dwayne Johnson (Maui), the voice cast of the original version of Moana 2 includes star Rachel House (Grandma Tala), Temuera Morrison (Chief Tui) and Nicole Scherzinger (Sina), along with Hualālai Chung, David Fane and Rose Matafeo who lend their voices respectively to Moni, Kele and Loto, the new members of Moana's crew.
The film also features the voices of Awhimai Fraser, who voices the mysterious new character Matangi; Gerald Ramsey, who plays Moana’s ancestor, Tautai Vasa; and Khaleesi Lambert-Tsuda, who voices Moana’s adorable and doting little sister, Simea. Moana 2 was produced by Christina Chen and Yvett Merino, with music by Grammy winners Abigail Barlow and Emily Bear, Grammy nominee Opetaia Foa’i, and three-time Grammy winner Mark Mancina. Jared Bush and Miller wrote the film.
