Jigra Movie Review: Alia Bhatt was introduced to the Telugu audience as Sita in 'RRR'. Now the audience has come forward with a lady-oriented action movie called 'Jigra'. And how is the movie?

Jigra Movie Story:

Satyabhama (Alia Bhatt) and Ankur Anand (Vedang Raina) are siblings. Their mother dies when they are young. A few days after the death of the mother, the father also commits suicide. With this, Satya Bhaman raised his younger brother Ankur from childhood and made him an adult. A hotel management staff works in the house of the very rich. In that house, the boy Kabir (Yuvraj Vision) and Ankur are good friends. But Satya always warns Ankur to stay away from Kabir because of his bad habits.

Kabir, who came from abroad, tells them about Ankur's business idea at his house. They also liked this idea and sent it to a country called Hanshi Dao near Malaysia to tell the investors. Kabir takes drugs at a party in that country. Later they will be found by the police during checking. In Hanshi Dao, if caught with drugs, the death penalty is imposed.

Kabir's lawyers make him confess the crime by hiding this from Ankur and telling Maya that he will come out in two months. Satyabhama will do all she can to save her younger brother. But there is no other way but to escape from prison. Satya decides to escape from prison to save her brother. And did Satya succeed in this attempt? Who are Muthu (Rahul Ravindran) and Bhatia (Manoj Pahwa)? To know all this you have to watch Jigra...

Jigra Movie Analysis

The Jailbreak genre is one of the least-seen movies on the Indian screen. It means that those who are in prison escape or they try to escape from their prison. In other genre movies, such scenes are seen as a part, but there are few movies where this is the complete theme. 'Chek' starring Nitin as the hero falls into this category. Being a new type of genre automatically brings freshness to the film.

As soon as the movie starts, director Vasan Bala takes it straight into the story without hammering. Vasan established the bond between the younger siblings very fast and effectively. With this, even if there are not many scenes between them, the audience will feel the connection. But when Ankur gets arrested, the movie slows down a lot. Until the interval, the story is moving here and there in the feeling audience.

What is new in this movie is that the people who are in jail are trying to escape. Outsiders are trying to free them. But one's efforts are unknown to the other. A good thrill was generated from the scenes in the background. In addition to this, the non-linear screenplay written by Vasan Bala has also worked well to maintain the suspense in some scenes. The action episode in the climax is the highlight of the movie. The entire jailbreak episode is well-designed.

The music in the movie is just so. The song 'Poolonka' is good to hear and see. The background score given by Achnith Tucker is down to the film. Cinematographer Swapnil frames well. Some shots especially in the climax feel like a visual feast.

Jigra Movie Actors Performance:

Alia Bhatt acted as Satya Bhama. Impressive in emotional scenes. Vedang Raina as Ankur also gave a good performance. Rahul Ravindran got a good role after a long time in the form of Muthu. He also did very well. All the other actors acted according to the scope of their roles.

Overall... 'Jigra' gives the audience the feeling of watching a new kind of movie but it would have been better if they had been a little more careful in the first half.
