Ryan Murphy is reuniting with FX for his new project, The Beauty, which will star Evan Peters. The new series is based on a series of graphic novels of the same name, further expanding Murphy's repertoire, known for his bold and provocative style.
What will The Beauty with Evan Peters be about?
Evan Peters' career has been deeply influenced by his collaboration with Murphy. He made his debut in the director's universe in American Horror Story: Murder House, where he played the character of Tate Langdon. Since then, Peters has had roles in all nine seasons of the series, in addition to starring in Pose and playing serial killer Jeffrey Dahmer in Dahmer — Monster: The Jeffrey Dahmer Story.
The Beauty joins a growing list of Murphy’s projects, which already includes The Watcher, Grotesquerie, and the upcoming Doctor Odyssey. The series is set to begin production this fall, with eleven episodes ordered, but a release date has yet to be announced.
As for the plot of The Beauty, we don’t know much yet, but we can get a sense of it, as the series will be based on a comic book. Set in a world where appearances are paramount, the story explores a sexually transmitted virus that bestows physical beauty. However, the true cost of this “beauty” turns out to be much darker, as a pair of detectives uncover dangerous secrets and find themselves on the run from those who want to keep the truth hidden.
