Marvel Studios may be preparing a new Doctor Strange film that will not only the return of Benedict Cumberbatch as the hero but also the return of director Sam Raimi, who helmed the character's last feature film in 2022.

The information came from journalist Jeff Sneider, who has a (imperfect) history of scoops related to Marvel Studios. In any case, given the importance of Doctor Strange in the current Multiverse Saga and the success of the previous film, which grossed almost US$ 1 billion at the box office, the return of Raimi and a third Doctor Strange film are not at all unlikely.

First, however, Raimi will film Send Help, his new horror film, in January 2025. Rachel McAdams, one of the stars of the Doctor Strange films, is in the cast.

There is great anticipation for the character's return, since at the end of Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, the character's second film, we see him meet Clea (Charlize Theron), who summons him for a mission in the Multiverse and mentions the Incursions. The term is used in the comics for the clash between two worlds and is directly linked to the Secret Wars arc, one of the next Avengers films, which will see the return of Robert Downey Jr. to the MCU, but now as Doctor Doom.

Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness sees Dr. Stephen Strange (Benedict Cumberbatch) exploring the Marvel multiverse with the return of Rachel McAdams, Benedict Wong, Chiwetel Ejiofor, as well as Elizabeth Olsen's Scarlet Witch and America Chavez, played by newcomer Xochitl Gomez.

The film is directed by Sam Raimi, who helmed Tobey Maguire's Spider-Man trilogy, and the soundtrack is by the legendary Danny Elfman, composer of Batman (1989) and Spider-Man. Patrick Stewart returns as Professor Xavier from the X-Men films.

The film is available on Disney+.
