Rosamund Pike will star in Thumblite, a new Netflix thriller series set in Silicon Valley.
While waiting to see her again as Moiraine Damodred in the third season of the successful Prime Video series The Wheel of Time, Rosamund Pike is ready to play the lead role in a new Netflix thriller series. The British actress, as reported by Deadline, will lead the cast and executive produce Thumblite, a thriller series set in the ruthless context of Silicon Valley.
Rosamund Pike to Star and Produce Thumblite, First Details on the Plot of the Series
Thumblite, according to the official synopsis, “examines the schemes, rivalries, visions, and obsessions of the powerful and their subordinates as they vie for control of the most powerful industry the world has ever known.” Scott Z. Burns, creator of the series Extrapolations, which focuses on the effects of climate change, created the series and will be both showrunner and executive producer. Rosamund Pike, Scott Galloway (a marketing professor at NYU Stern School of Business and a great observer and expert on technology companies), Greg Jacobs, Michael Ellenberg, and Lindsey Springer will also be executive producers. The series had also been “eyed” by Apple TV+ and Prime Video, but both streaming services decided to step back – paving the way for Netflix! – due to the themes at the center of the show, such as the power and abuse of large companies that operate in the technology sector.
