The first-ever clip from a Minecraft movie is all about crafting.

Minecraft has allowed fans to see a clip from the movie that focuses on the crafting process, which is central to the game. In this scene, Jack Black plays Steve, who explains to newcomers to the Overworld, played by Jason Momoa as Garrett and Sebastian Hansen as Henry, how crafting works in the world of Minecraft.

The Minecraft movie is scheduled for release on April 4

The clip, which starts around the 4:51 mark, was presented during an interview with Mojang creative director Torfi Olafsson and director Jared Hess. Both men highlighted their commitment to ensuring that the representation of the Overworld was as faithful to the original game as possible. The crafting process in the movie was designed to mirror exactly what players do in the game: using a crafting table, gathering materials, and following a recipe.

In the clip, Steve demonstrates how to create a sword in Minecraft using a stick and two pieces of metal, a recipe that matches the one in the game. The film also includes a visual homage to the hammer and saw symbols, already visible on the side of the workbench in the game. An interesting detail is that, although Momoa's character tries to create an original object, similar to a double bucket with chains, the developers do not rule out the possibility of new additions to the game in the future.
