Sunny: A24 mystery drama trailer relesed, household robot uncovers new terrifying facts

A24 production of the mystery thriller "Sunny", starring Nishijima Hidetoshi, YOU, and other Japanese cast members, will be released worldwide on Apple TV+ from Wednesday, July 10, 2024. Ahead of this, the trailer video has been released.

The protagonist Susie, played by Rashida Jones, is an American woman living in Kyoto. Her life is turned upside down when her husband and son go missing after a mysterious plane crash. As a "get well soon" gift, she is given a new household robot named Sunny, manufactured by the electronics manufacturer where her husband works. At first, Susie is angry when Sunny tries to comfort her, but an unexpected friendship soon develops between the two. As the two investigate together what really happened to Susie's family, they step into a terrifying world they never knew existed.

Sunny is a 10-episode mystery series with a dark humor. Katie Robbins is the showrunner and executive producer, Lucy Czerniak is the director and executive producer, and Rashida Jones stars and executive producer. Other cast members include Hidetoshi Nishijima, Joanna Sotomura, Judy Ongg, YOU, Annie the Clumsy, and Jun Kunimura. The series is produced by A24 for Apple TV+. It is based on the novel The Dark Manual by award-winning Irish author Colin O'Sullivan, who lives in Japan. Sunny will debut worldwide on Wednesday, July 10, 2024, with the first two episodes. New episodes will be available every Wednesday until September 4, 2024.
