Disney+ has released a new official trailer for the long-awaited series The Acolyte.

On the occasion of the annual Star Wars fan party, Disney+ has released a new official trailer for the upcoming series set in the Lucasfilm universe, The Acolyte. The live-action series, exciting and full of suspense, will debut on the platform on Wednesday 5 June with the first two episodes.

In The Acolyte, an investigation into a shocking series of crimes pits a respected Jedi Master (Lee Jung-jae) against a dangerous warrior from his past (Amandla Stenberg). As new clues emerge, the two travel down a dark path where sinister forces reveal that all is not as it seems...

The Acolyte stars Amandla Stenberg, Lee Jung-Jae, Manny Jacinto, Dafne Keen, Charlie Barnett, Jodie Turner-Smith, Rebecca Henderson, Dean-Charles Chapman, Joonas Suotamo and Carrie-Anne Moss. Leslye Headland is the creator of the series and serves as an executive producer alongside Kathleen Kennedy, Simon Emanuel, Jeff F. King, and Jason Micallef. Charmaine DeGraté and Kor Adana serve as co-executive producers. Rayne Roberts, Damian Anderson, Eileen Shim, and Rob Bredow are the producers.

 Headland also directed the first episodes (episodes 1x01 and 1x02). Directors Kogonada (episodes 1x03 and 1x07), Alex Garcia Lopez (episodes 1x04 and 1x05) and Hanelle Culpepper (episodes 1x06 and 1x08) complete the direction of the series. Award-winning composer Michael Abels, known for his work on Get Out and Us, wrote the soundtrack.
