Prime Video has revealed the first images of the film Jackpot, which is scheduled for release on May 14th. The film, previously titled Grand Death Lotto, is set in the near future in California, where a “Grand Lottery” has been established: the winner must be killed before sunset to legally claim the multibillion-dollar prize.


Jackpot: plot, synopsis and cast

The film Jackpot follows Katie Kim, played by Awkwafina, a woman who moves to Los Angeles and mistakenly ends up with the winning lottery ticket. In a fight for survival against relentless jackpot hunters, Katie teams up with amateur lottery protection agent Noel Cassidy, played by John Cena. Noel agrees to help Katie ride into the sunset in exchange for a share of her prize, but he also has to deal with her cunning rival, Louis Lewis, played by Simu Liu, who seeks to collect Katie's commission at all costs.

Soon, a “Grand Lottery” has been established in California – the trick: kill the winner before sunset to legally claim his multi-billion dollar jackpot. When Katie Kim (Awkwafina) moves to Los Angeles, she mistakenly ends up with the winning ticket. Desperate to survive the hordes of jackpot hunters, she reluctantly joins forces with amateur lottery protection agent Noel Cassidy (John Cena) who will do everything in his power to see her ride off into the sunset in exchange for a part of his prize. However, Noel must face his cunning rival Louis Lewis (Simu Liu), who also seeks to collect Katie's commission at all costs.

Directed by Paul Feig and written by Rob Yescombe, Jackpot mixes together action and comedy in an adventure that sees a stellar cast with Ayden Mayer, Donald Elise Watkins, Sam Asghari, Murray Hill, and others.
