House of the Dragon is ready to return to the small screen with a fiery second season.
There is now a month left until the debut on Sky of the highly anticipated second season of House of the Dragon, the HBO TV series based on the novel Fire and Blood by George R.R. Martin is set 200 years before the events mentioned in Game of Thrones and tells the story of House Targaryen. The new episodes will debut starting on June 17th on Sky and streaming only on NOW, at the same time as the American broadcast. In the second season of House of the Dragon, Westeros is on the brink of a bloody civil war, with the Council of the Green (Ser Criston Cole, Prince Aemond Targaryen, and Queen Alicent Hightower) and of the Black (Prince Daemon Targaryen, Princess Rhaenys Targaryen and Lord Corlys Velaryon) fighting for King Aegon II Targaryen, and Queen Rhaenyra Targaryen respectively. Each of the two factions believes their aspiration to the Iron Throne is legitimate. The kingdom is ready to split in two.
In eight new episodes, the second season of House of the Dragon features in the cast the already protagonists of the first season Matt Smith, Olivia Cooke, Emma D'Arcy, Eve Best, Steve Toussaint, Fabien Frankel, Ewan Mitchell, Tom Glynn-Carney, Sonoya Mizuno and Rhys Ifans. Harry Collett, Bethany Antonia, Phoebe Campbell, Phia Saban, Jefferson Hall, and Matthew Needham also return in the new episodes.
