Driven by the public's favor, but also by fair reviews from critics, as well as by an absolutely singular narrative theme, the Civil War won the American box office with an estimated taking of 25.71 million dollars and an average per room of 6700 dollars. The result obtained goes well beyond the pre-release predictions, which seemed to push towards a 20 million debut.

Statistics in hand, Civil War represents the highest debut gross ever for the independent distribution company A24, although it is also linked to a film with the highest budget ever (around 50 million). In this regard, analysts are banking on the fact that Alex Garland's film could become, regardless of the high budget, yet another great success for A24.

In second place Godzilla and Kong: The New Empire had to settle for second place with a new gross of 15.45 million dollars. To date, the total has risen to 157.93 million, which rises to 373.08 million globally. In the third position, however, space for Ghostbusters: Frozen Empire, whose new takings were worth 5.8 million dollars, for a total of 96.96 million.
