After a feverish wait, the trailer for Joker: Folie à Deux has finally been released, recording truly impressive numbers. The first images of the sequel to the 2019 film - which once again stars Joaquin Phoenix as Arthur Fleck alongside new entry Lady Gaga as Harley Quinn - were released online at the same time as the presentation at the scheduled CinemaCon event in Las Vegas.

The first official trailer for Joker: Folie à Deux recorded 167 million views in just 24 hours, beating the trailer for Inside Out 2 (157 million) and failing to reach the impressive 365 million views of Deadpool & Wolverine. According to Variety, the data of views and interactions on social networks have exceeded those of the first promotional video of the 2023 blockbuster film Barbie. Furthermore, the first images of the film were trending on X with as many as ten different search terms. Directed by Todd Phillips and also starring Zazie Beetz, Brendan Gleeson, Catherine Keener, Jacob Lofland, Steve Coogan, Ken Leung, and Harry Lawtey, Joker: Folie à Deux – whose budget was 200 million dollars – will be released in theaters on 2 October 2024.
