The long-running feud between Dwayne Johnson and Vin Diesel in Fast & Furious officially came to an end last year, when Dwayne Johnson stunned fans by returning as the beloved Luke Hobbs for a mid-credits scene in Fast X. Diesel he had invited his colleague to be part of the film in November 2021, but Johnson replied that he would "never return to the franchise". It turned out to be a bluff.

The duo's Fast & Furious co-star John Cena was recently a guest on the Armchair Expert podcast, and host Dax Shepard asked him about the rumors surrounding Johnson and Diesel's feud/fight on set. “There are certainly rumors about it. I can't deny it,” Cena replied. “We have two very alpha males. There can only be one.” Cena joined Vin Diesel's cinematic family in 2021's F9: The Fast Saga as Jakob Toretto. What was it like joining a franchise with so many alpha males? Cena said his days in the WWE world prepared him to keep his head down and be a team player.

“I get invited into someone's house, into someone's family. And regardless of their physical appearance compared to another human being, this is an IP that has had nine episodes and is an action film – it's a very rarefied air. At the very least, there has to be respect for that.” Cena concluded the speech by saying that he is only "a guest" in the Fast & Furious family and that he will do everything he can to "put out" any fires that break out on set.
