Guntur Kaaram Movie Review: After almost thirteen years, the Mahesh Babu-Trivikram combination movie has been released on a huge scale targeting Sankranti. 'Guntur Karam', which has been in the news for a long time released as regional cinema. How is Mahesh Babu's new movie after 'Sarkaruvari Pata'? Let's find out.

Guntur Karam Movie Story:

Ramana (Mahesh Babu) was abandoned by his mother Vasundhara (Ramyakrishna) when he was young. Father Satyam (Jayaram) goes to jail in a case. Maternal Aunt (Ishwaribai) raises Ramana. Then the mother gets married again. Vasundhara grows up to be a minister under the patronage of her father Venkataswamy (Prakash Raj), a senior politician in Hyderabad. In this background, another leader named Kata Madhu (Ravi Shankar), who is eyeing the minister post, wants to expose Vasundhara's past and end her political career. To prevent this, Venkataswamy calls his grandson Ramana and wants him to sign that he has no relationship with his mother.

Did this effort work? Did Ramana sign it? Why did Father Satyam go to jail? What is the real reason for Vasundhara's son Ramana to stay away? What is the conspiracy of her father Venkataswamy? What did Ramana do to change his mother's mind, who is suffering from being away from his mother? Mother and son finally become one? What is the role of Amukta (Srileela) and Raji (Meenakshi Chaudhary) in this? ... This is the rest of the story.

Analysis:

This story has been introduced previously for Sankranti, director Trivikram is still presenting an old story. He made movies like 'Ala Vaikunthapuramulo' with Allu Arjun, 'Attarintiki Daredi' with Pawan Kalyan, and 'Ajnathavasi' again with Pawan Kalyan, with the same story of mother and son getting separated at a young age and meeting after 25 years. Trivikram has tried to present the same ancient story as a new story with Mahesh Babu, this time adding a political dimension. It may be, but the main point of this mother and son story - 'Mahesh Babu's signature that he has no relationship with the mother' is not believable and legally invalid, so the film is in danger of being boring in the first half.

Trivikram tried unsuccessfully to make a film with no power, which only had a story to get signed, and commercial gimmicks with Mahesh Babu's star power. Between Guntur-Hyderabad, the scenes of Mahesh Babu traveling in the car and signing points are repeated. Sreeleela a lawyer's daughter stays at Mahesh Babu's house and there is a track with 'comedy' attempts for signature. This track contains romantic songs etc. Fights with Mirchi business rival Jagapathi Banu etc. There are repeated conspiracies to send Mahesh Babu to jail if he does not sign. All this is going on as a weak story, and the movie gets stronger with the scene where the mother is face to face in the interval.

The second half was again about the signature. Repeated fights with Prakash Raj in the role of grandfather. At one stage, the second half lacks content and becomes empty. The film ends with a powerful emotional scene where the mother and son unite. As Mahesh Babu did nothing in the story where the mother, who has been a puppet in the hands of her grandfather for years, was supposed to recognize the problem and free her and give her a happy ending,

As he is also playing a passive role like his grandfather, the film is in danger of taking a lot of risks.

Guntur Karam Movie Actors Performance:

It is completely Mahesh Babu's one-man show. He brought good glamor to the movie with his acting skills. He gave a heart-warming performance in the interval scene and at the end. He kept doing various comedy and action scenes without knowing what he was doing in the rest of the story. Apart from feeling like a son without a mother for a long time, he did not try to recognize the feelings of a mother without a son. Adequate heroism would have come if it had been recognized. As an active character, he gets into action with a goal for the caged mother. This is an action comedy that keeps people laughing, but he takes the film to another level and succeeds. If the main character in the story is the goal, then the story is there. Why not if there is no story.

Srileela has no role in this movie either. Once again, she became a dancing doll in the songs. Meenakshi Chaudhary's role as Mahesh Maradali is limited to a few scenes. Ramya Krishna, Ishwari Rao, Jagapathi Babu, Rao Ramesh, Murali Sharma, and Jayaram Vennela Kishore all have fewer roles - except Prakash Raj with one villain. Sunil initially appears in a scene and becomes a statue, then the statue's head. Very unfair.

Guntur, Hyderabad locations, Mirchi Godown set, and other outdoor locations have good visuals. The action scenes are technically superior. The songs in Taman's music and their choreography are also good.
