Fallout fans, get ready to come out of the bunkers again: Prime Video has made it official in the last few hours that the TV series based on the popular video game saga will have a second season. The announcement comes a few days after the debut of this adaptation, which made its appearance on the streaming platform last April 10th. The appreciation for this project, ambitious from its origin given the complexity of the original video game but also the passion that many have for it, was almost unanimous, with many reviews appreciating the fidelity but also the imagination with which the screenplay brought an extremely precise and peculiar videogame universe to the screen.

The news of the renewal, although never taken for granted especially in the serial panorama of recent years, was in any case highly anticipated. In recent weeks there has already been talk of Amazon's decision to move the production of future episodes to California, to secure 25 million dollars in tax credits, tax breaks for which television and film studios are increasingly hungry these days, also given the increasingly higher budgets needed to shoot these series.

“Jonathan, Lisa, Geneva, and Graham have captivated the world with the exciting and innovative course of their series,” said Amazon MGM Studios head Jennifer Salke, thanking producers Jonathan Nolan and Lisa Joy and showrunners Geneva Robertson-Dworet and Graham Wagner: “The bar was set high for the fans of this iconic video game, but so far it seems we have exceeded their expectations while bringing millions of new fans to the franchise.”

The first season of Fallout

Set in a retrofuturistic universe, Fallout chronicles the world two hundred years after a nuclear apocalypse. After an atomic war practically devastated the Earth, many human beings found shelter in enormous fallout shelters where they rebuilt a privileged and protected society; when one of these "refugees" disappears, her daughter is forced to venture out of the bunker, discovering with great surprise a wasteland populated by complex and unexpected creatures. The eight episodes of the first season lead to unexpected adventures and the revelation of truths from the past that shed new light on the history of humanity, promising equally sensational turning points in the future. Which, at this point, we will soon see in the second season.
