Superman: Legacy is the next DC film that has all it takes to really make a difference: after all, we are talking about a project that, apparently, will renew this entire superhero universe in the name of the new management set by both James Gunn and Peter Safran, the two new co-CEOs of the company. So far we have understood that the two absolutely want to renew everything, bringing gigantic changes, with totally changed characters, new projects, and many faces much loved by the public who will leave space for others. Among these, it is no coincidence that Henry Cavill stands out as he leaves his Superman to David Corenswet (In Politics and in Love, Parallel Lines), the protagonist of the aforementioned film which will not be a real origin story in the strict sense.

Superman: Legacy is coming in 2025

In recent weeks, a lot of information has been arriving regarding Superman: Legacy with casting news reigning supreme. Among the various possible names that have been doing the rounds for days is that of the well-known Nicholas Hoult (Clash of the Titans, Those Who Want Me Dead) who apparently, according to insiders, will be the face of the new Lex Luthor, Superman's arch-enemy as well as one of the most well-known antagonists in the DC world. Well, just a few hours ago, Gunn himself (as reported by CBR), through his personal Instagram profile, confirmed that the star will embody this character, explaining that this hiring was defined only a couple of days ago. In addition to this, the artist also explained that the actor is working on a new version of the villain.

“Yes, I can finally answer, Nicholas Hoult is Lex Luthor in #SupermanLegacy and I couldn't be happier. Last night we went out to dinner to celebrate and discuss how to create a Lex that will be unlike anything you've ever seen before and that you'll never forget. ‘But, James, we found out weeks ago, why didn't you tell us it was true?’ Because, even though we were discussing it, it wasn't definitive until a couple of days ago and I don't want to tell you something that isn't certain. Anyway, here's to Lex (and Nicholas!), one of my favorite characters in the DCU.”
