Jason Statham is a British actor, film producer, martial artist, and former model born in Shirebrook on 26 July 1967. Without a shadow of a doubt, we are probably talking about the closest heir of the old-school action performers, a figure who has equals having appeared in projects of the caliber of The Transporter (2022), Collateral (2004), The Perfect Heist (2008), Killer Elite (2011), The Expendables (2010), Wrath of Man (2021 ) and many more. It is no coincidence, among other things, that the last film in which he was the protagonist, The Beekeeper by David Ayer, sees him again as an unblemished and fearless antihero, always ready to fight.

In a recent interview for Variety, Jason Statham was asked why he had not yet appeared in any superhero film, and his answer, in reality. However, it is quite predictable and is almost touching because it captures all his passion for a film genre very clear that it is the action one.
“I don't have a big appetite for a costume, with a cape and tights. I like old-school movies from the 80s. I was inspired by people like [Sylvester] Stallone and Arnold [Schwarzenegger]. And even before those guys, Steve McQueen, Paul Newman, and [Clint] Eastwood. I just couldn't see any of those guys wearing a cape and a mask and walking around on wires. Cinema is like music. Some like country and western, some like heavy metal. I'm drawn to a more grounded type of action. Well, I like to be grounded to be an element that injects itself into the crazy world we're in."
