The arrival in theaters of Blue Beetle, the new film of a DC Universe about to face what could be the definitive transformation of him at the hands of James Gunn, is just around the corner. However, instead of looking to the future, we will look to the past to talk about one of the most interesting projects, which has now fallen into oblivion. We are talking about Ben Affleck's Batman, in which the star was supposed to appear in front of and behind the cameras. However, the project was abandoned. Now storyboard artist Jay Oliva, involved in the ill-fated Dark Knight film, spoke about it during an interview with Inverse.

In the interview, he didn't hesitate to describe it as something "stunning" and gave details of what we could see. “I can't say much, except that it would have been stunning. The best. That would have been great. As far as I know, there were a couple of versions of the script. When I came on board, I don't know if it was the second version or something, but it was what Geoff Johns and Ben [Affleck] had shown me."

“I worked on a lot of Batman-related stuff, but what was really cool about this movie is that it explored a lot of exciting storylines that had never been explored before. Ben's story would cover something that had never been addressed in comics, it was based on the storylines of the Batman mythos of the last 80 years and did it from a new perspective“.

“There was a lot of inventiveness and there were a lot of things that I really loved that I wanted to make. It was an exciting project from the beginning. Ben had to drop out for personal reasons and I totally understood that, but the time I spent with him working on the project was fantastic. Maybe one day I'll be able to tell all the details, but I can't talk about it yet."
