After Operation Valkyrie, Edge of Tomorrow, The Mummy, Top Gun: Maverick, and the last three chapters of Mission Impossible, Tom Cruise is ready to return to collaborate with director Christopher McQuarrie. Not much is known about the new project, the production of which should officially start after the end of the filming of Mission: Impossible – Dead Reckoning Part 2, except that it will be a film forbidden to minors.

“There is a film that Tom Cruise and I are thinking about making as a possible project, or maybe the one after that, that I have developed together with Erik Jendresen. The project has been talked about on the internet as The Gnarly Movie. This is the film that everyone is asking about and that we want to make,” the director told Empire magazine. A project that the director had already talked about in the Light The Fuse podcast about three years ago. McQuarrie also underlined that the protagonist of the film – built together with Erik Jendresen – “is very different from Tom“. Does that mean the actor will deliver a Magnolia-style performance? We'll see!
